Lucía Middelhof is a bilingual (English/Spanish) behavioral health clinician with over five years of experience supporting youth and families across community mental health and school settings. At Capital Area Pediatrics, she currently serves as an HRSA behavioral health workforce fellow in collaboration with George Mason's Center for Evidence Based Behavioral Health (CEBBH) while pursuing her Master of Social Work degree from George Mason University. Lucia also has a Bachelor's of Science in Sociology from Virginia Commonwealth University.
Lucía has received intensive training in cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) for youth, evidence-based parent interventions, and dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), with a focus on supporting emotional regulation, coping skills, and family well-being. Her clinical approach is rooted in cultural humility and guided by an intersectional, trauma-informed lens, emphasizing collaboration with caregivers and building on family strengths to support healthy child development. Outside of work, Lucía enjoys cooking, practicing and teaching yoga, and caring for her houseplants.
