REVIEW USMeet Kasandra Sanchez-Hernandez, MA
Kasandra Sánchez-Hernández is a fifth-year doctoral student in the Ph.D. Clinical Psychology program at Gallaudet University. At Capital Area Pediatrics, she currently serves as an HRSA behavioral health workforce fellow, in collaboration with George Mason's Center for Evidence Based Behavioral Health (CEBBH)
She has a Bachelor's in psychology from George Mason University as well as a Masters of Mental Health Counseling from Boston University School of Medicine.
She has experience providing individual, couple, and group therapy to children and adults dealing with depression, anxiety, and trauma-related concerns in a variety of settings, including community health centers, private practice, and university counseling centers.
Kasandra has received intensive training in cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) for youth, evidence-based parent interventions, and dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), with a focus on supporting emotional regulation, coping skills, and family well-being.
Kasandra has a special interest in cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), and culturally-informed care. Kasandra looks forward to continuing to building meaningful relationships with the individuals and communities she serves at Capital Area Pediatrics.
