REVIEW USMeet Kate Tulenko, MD
Dr. Kate Tulenko has built a career that balances hands-on patient care and public health leadership. She has a clinical interest in complex and emerging diagnoses, including autoimmune neurologic conditions.
Dr. Tulenko previously led the World Bank’s regional health workforce program and served as director of the US government’s global health workforce project. She earned her bachelor’s degree in biochemistry from Harvard, a master’s degree in medical ethics from Emmanuel College, Cambridge, and her MD and MPH from Johns Hopkins. She serves as an adjunct professor at Johns Hopkins, where she teaches AI change management in clinical settings. She completed her pediatric residency at Children’s National Medical Center.
Dr. Tulenko lives in Alexandria with her husband and two daughters. Outside of work, she enjoys being immersed in nature through gardening, hiking, and travel, and spends as much time outdoors as possible.
