Lucy Cusack, BSN, RN IBCLC

Lucy is a Registered Nurse and International Board Certified Lactation Consultant.

While she is originally from NY, she went to university in the DC area and moved to Virginia in 1991.

Lucy has spent more than 35 years caring for babies and their families. She spent most of that time caring for the most fragile of babies in the NICU.  In 2019 she became a lactation consultant to better serve her patients and loved it so much that she started doing it full time.  She often wishes that lactation consultants had been more readily available many years ago when she was breastfeeding her own children.

While not at work, Lucy enjoys scrapbooking and other crafts, as well as spending time with her husband and 3 adult children who have all graduated from Capital Area Pediatrics. But most of all, she loves to travel with her family and see new places. They are working on hiking their way through the National Parks one trail at a time!
